Transport to Laos การเดินทางไปลาว
"Nongkhai" is the gate way to Indo-China. Nongkhai, historical city, is a city in the border located in the Northeastern region or Isan. Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge in Nongkhai province is the first bridge crossing Mae-Khong river. It helps crossing border, transportation, investment, tourism and exchanging culture and tradition between 2 countries. It also helpful to business man, traders, tourists and brings closeness between officials and people of both Thailand and Laos which help increasing friendship and helping each other as neighborhood and sister countries.
There are 4 routes from Thailand to Laos:
1st route: Nongkhai - Vientiane
Transport Co,Ltd. launched public bus between Thailand-Laos. 1st route Nongkhai - Vientiane, The first service is inaugurated on the day of inauguration of Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge on 23 April 2004. The inauguration ceremony was presided by Mr.Nikorn Chamnong, Minister of Transportation and Mr. Sommad Phonsena Minister of Transportation , Postal and onstruction of Lao People' Democratic Republic which was initiation of paving way to Indo-China by land. In the future Transport Co.,Ltd provides service from Bangkok to Vientiane.
2st route: Udonthani - Vientiane
Transport Co,Ltd. launched public bus between Thailand-Laos. 2st route Udonthani - Vientiane connect to 1 st route, The second service is inaugurated on the day of inauguration of Thai-Laos Friendship Bridge on 23 April 2004. The inauguration ceremony was presided by Mr.Nikorn Chamnong, Minister of Transportation and Mr. Sommad Phonsena Minister of Transportation , Postal and onstruction of Lao People' Democratic Republic which was initiation of paving way to Indo-China by land. In the future Transport Co.,Ltd provides service from Bangkok to Vientiane.
3st route: Ubonrajadhani - Pakse
Transport Co,Ltd. launched public bus between Thailand-Laos. Ubonrajadhani - Pakse route was inaugurated on 23 February 2006. This route provides facility in traveling and trade of both side of Mae-Khong river which promoted economy of Thailand and Laos. The public bus run from bus station in Ubonrajadhani in Thailand to VIP station in Dang market, Pakse city, Champasak region of Laos through check point Dansong in Ubonrajadhani and check point Wangtao in Champasak.
4st route: Mukdahan - Savannakhet
Transport Co,Ltd. launched public bus service route 4 between Mukdahan-Savannakhet crossing second friendship bridge that officially opened on 20 December 2006. Council of Join Service for management and maintenance of second Thai-Laos friendship bridge agreed for the public bus service in the route from 9 January 2007. The bus station in Thailand located in Mukdahan and in Laos located in Savannakhet. There is also bus stop in the both side of the bridge.
